There’s nothing quite like taking autumn flower classes. The flowers of fall are truly magical and the golden light makes their colors all the more saturated. At Love ‘n Fresh Flowers here in Philadelphia, we love to host autumn flower classes and have had several this fall already. Floral workshops have been one of the best ways for customers to enjoy our flowers because they get to come to the farm and see exactly where and how they are grown.
The best part of our floral design workshops is that they bring together a small group of flower lovers and a sense of camaraderie and joyfulness develops over the few hours we spend together, surrounded by the beauty of the blooms and the farm. New friendships are forged among the flowers and this is why our farm exists. We’re not just here to grow flowers. We are here to grow community and a sense of belonging in a world that is too often turbulent and sharp. We know we are doing something right with our workshops when we see the same smiling faces return again and again to join us for these special moments among the stems.
Below are a few snapshots from our recent Dahlia Happy Hour workshop that encapsulate how delightful the experience is at our autumn flower classes. Students were able to cut their own dahlias from our Philadelphia flower farm and then they made a small arrangement in a traditional floral frog. Wine and nibbles were provided too. The sunset couldn’t be beat either!
