Possibly my favorite design I have ever made. Enough said.
Okay, just a bit more on this design. It’s been so hot and humid here as of late and the field is FULL of bright summer color everywhere. And yet, all I want is a little cool and calm during these long days of field work, battling the monster weeds and encouraging my aching back to keep on bending to harvest, harvest, harvest. And there in lies the inspiration for this week’s Seasonal Bouquet. The lamb’s ear started the ball rolling. The green pine cones were a treasure, as were the baby persimmons from our little orchard that is finally beginning to mature. But perhaps my favorite element is the tiny grape tomatoes, which almost twinkle in the low light of the day’s end.
oh, this is really just sublime. another wonderful blue-green that I feel in love with this summer is unripened blueberries. so pretty. Thanks for the inspiration – I’m off to find my compotes and get started!
Jennie –
I love this! The deodar cedar (Cedrus deodara) cones are my favorite! Incredible texture, who needs color?
the last shot could be my favorite. shows the simplicity of the design.
so f-ing good!!!
Jennie, I’ve been thinking kind thoughts for you this summer. This is a perfectly lovely expression of what we are all craving right now. Your work, in all its dimensions, is inspiring.
Jennie,
Makes me yearn for the coolness of winter. I absolutely love it! Just goes to show, there are no plant materials off limits. Very creative!
Those green pine cones are so juicy! I LOVE this arrangement. Thanks for making it!
