Continuing on the theme from last week, I thought I’d try another design that was in the same container and similar colors to one that I did earlier in the season to demonstrate that it’s not about the specific flowers so much as it is about the color story and movement of the design. I was on a path to success and then the dark juicy cranberry colors lured me away and into a deeper tonal pattern. So, you can kind of see the similarity, and yet this arrangement is unique from the last. Autumn is, after all, approaching.
In this week’s design are dahlias, Double Click Cranberry cosmos, porcelain vine, Sunday Orange plume celosia, orange cosmos, ruby grass, Frosted Explosion grass, ornamental pepper, toad lily foliage, currant tomatoes, bronze fennel, and QIS orange gomphrena.
What’s blooming in your backyard this week? Feel free to add a link to your own Backyard Bouquets in the comments section below. If you are on Instagram, be sure to use the hashtag #backyardbouquets to join in the fun. I’d love to see what everyone is growing and creating!
The only “rule” is that all the elements in the arrangement must be sourced locally, within a 25 mile radius. Your own backyard is a great place to start!!
I love the flowers pictures against your garden – so beautiful!
