Nothing makes me happier than keeping our flowers as close to home as possible. And to have them in the perfect natural setting is even better. That’s why I love designing wedding flowers for couples getting married at the historic Valley Green Inn in the Wissahicken Park here in Philadelphia. The quaint inn sits on a creek surrounded by the most beautiful woodlands. The dirt road that runs in front of it used to be the stagecoach line going into the city back in colonial times. The horse stable is still next door. This stunning location is a mere mile from our flower farm and even closer to our design studio in Chestnut Hill so it’s such a treat that we get to do so many weddings there!
Catherine and Jeff had a beautiful ceremony along the creek’s edge. I couldn’t get over how absolutely beautiful Catherine looked in her ivory lace gown with her red hair all swept up. The bouquet I made for her in peach and cream was just the perfect match. The talented ladies from Love Me Do Photography were on hand to capture it all!
Our rustic oak branch chuppah could not have been more at home than in this wooded setting. The floral garland on the table underneath was particularly eye-catching. But I think my favorite floral touch of the day was the big crate of dogwood branches that greeted guests at the back of the aisle. Catherine’s family is from North Carolina, where the dogwood is the state flower. So the crate of dogwood was not only beautiful but also quite meaningful.
Congratulations, Catherine & Jeff!! Thank you for letting us be part of your special day!
Very beautiful, and so soft and feminine looking.

Gorgeous! just wanna stick my nose in and inhale.
Thanks, everyone!! It was a fun wedding to design. Barb, it’s so funny that you should say “soft and feminine” as that’s exactly what the bride said when I asked her to describe her perfect flowers. I guess I hit the nail on the head. 🙂
really very superb
