I’ve never liked pink. I’ve rarely enjoyed orange. I tend to wear silver, nine times out of ten, leaving the gold jewelry in the box.
It’s no small surprise then to find myself fixated — literally dreaming about — flowers and vessels in an exquisite mix of pink, orange and gold.

I can’t get it out of my head.

So I’ve done what any normal human being would do: I’ve ordered thousands of seeds and plants for orange and pink flowers to plant this spring. Poppies, nasturtiums, sweet peas, zinnias, marigolds (really), snapdragons, foxglove, ranunculus, tulips, garden roses, dahlias (even more than before), a rare variety of iris…

And I’m hording antique gold vessels like nobody’s business. There may also be a dozen or so gold spray paint cans kicking about the studio right now.
I’m sure you’ll be noticing a lot of these hues in my work this season. Should be refreshing!
