Love 'n Fresh Flowers Farm Dinner

My heart is so full right now! Last evening as twilight fell, I sat at long farm tables spread with delicious food and flowers from our farm and listened to students and friends laughing and chatting so loudly for hours that sometimes it was hard to hear myself think. But I was indeed thinking. Thinking about how amazing it is that Love ‘n Fresh Flowers has grown into such a hub for creative people on so many unique journeys that get to intersect at our farm and then go off and flourish in new ways.

It’s not just students, but also the creative community of friends I’ve made here in Philadelphia and their constant support that seems immensely magical to me. Years ago I read a biography of Eleanor Roosevelt and was captivated by the idea of her pulling so many artists and just-plain-interesting people together for parties, learning experiences, and even wild joy rides on dusty roads that made the newspapers. She was a driven and smart woman who had a lot of important roles to play, but it was this side of her that was most appealing to me. Last night as we ate in the field and drank too much wine, I felt like maybe I’m becoming just a little bit like her. What a powerful thought indeed.

So much gratitude to so many people that made our Master Class “From Seed to Centerpiece” series a huge success! You know who you are! Sometime (maybe not until winter) I’m going to write a very long blog post on “you people”! xoxo
