DAHLIA HAPPY HOUR

Date: Friday, SEPTEMBER 15, 2017
Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Love ‘n Fresh Flowers | Philadelphia PA

Mid-September is PRIME dahlia season!  Our hundreds of dahlia plants will be bursting with the most exquisite little floral masterpieces you can imagine. Get out of work and head straight to our farm for seasonal cocktails and a floral happy hour where you can walk our field, snip whatever blooms your heart desires, and make a few little fun arrangements in a super relaxed setting as the autumn sun sets.  This workshop will demonstrate a simple hand-tied style arrangement that is fast and easy to make in the evening light.  Lovely little boho ceramic vessels will be provided for students to use and are yours to keep.  Bring a friend to double your fun!

AUTUMN ABUNDANCE

Date: Saturday, SEPTEMBER 23, 2017
Time: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Location: Love ‘n Fresh Flowers | Philadelphia PA

Dive head first into a flower farm in all its autumn glory!  In this longer workshop, you’ll have plenty of time to play with our dahlias, cosmos, lisianthus, grasses, rusty-hued foliages, herbs, and much more!  Take lots of photos in the soft golden light.  Learn how to incorporate seasonal fruits and air plants into your designs.  A beautiful large earthen bowl will be provided for each student to use and is yours to keep.  Walk long rows of blooms at the farm and harvest as your heart desires. Learn how to craft a loose, lush, “earthy elegant” arrangement that is the signature look at Love ‘n Fresh Flowers.

SEASON FINALE

Date: Saturday, OCTOBER 21, 2017
Time: 3 PM – 5:30 PM
Location: Love ‘n Fresh Flowers | Philadelphia PA

The long low golden rays of the autumn sun will touch on the very last of our flowers to bloom before frost in this final workshop of our 2017 season.  The cold nights will have turned the jewel-tones of the dahlias into something you can’t quite believe, proving Mother Nature is indeed a sorceress. The meadow will be full of dying grasses and seed pods to forage.  The swan song of a field about to give up the last of its spirit for the season is intensely beautiful and somehow unexpectedly calming.  Find your center in this wild space before the winter sets in.  A unique onyx metal vessel will be provided for each student to use and is yours to keep.  Walk long rows of blooms at the farm and harvest as your heart desires. Learn how to craft a lush dramatic arrangement full of wildness.  Sip mulled cider or wine if the chill in the air is too much.

PREVIOUS WORKSHOPS

FLOWER CHILD

Date: Saturday, APRIL 22, 2017
Time: 2 PM – 4:30 PM
Location: Love ‘n Fresh Flowers | Philadelphia PA

Celebrate spring by learning to make beautiful, ethereal wearable floral art, including a romantic floral crown and fresh flower necklace. Students will stroll the farm, in its sleepy early spring state, to gather their own flowers to use. Ranunculus and muscari will abound.  We’ll then get cozy and creative inside the cottage-style design space at the farm, designing flower crowns and necklaces.  Jennie will carefully demonstrate all the necessary tools and techniques so even beginners will find this class fun and enjoyable. As time permits, Jennie will also demonstrate how to make other floral apparel, such as boutonnieres, corsages and rings.  Frolicking through the flower fields, crown on head, is strongly encouraged at the end!
